a month agoAmazing! Great food and some of the best sushi I’ve ever had. Servers were excellent. SUSHI MAN WAS WORKING HARD! I ordered the Love Tuna and it’s now my favorite type of sushi. I also had the spicy salmon sushi with avacado. Interior decor is great and the music playing was fun and atmospheric.

2 months agoGot treated for my birthday for lunch and had the Sakura bowl and the ichi-go kiss and both were such top quality! I’m a huge foodie and it legit brought appreciative tears to my eyes haha (I love delicious food!) I was presented a balloon and a mille crepe cake dessert. The chefs, buyers, waiters all delivered a warm welcome and delicious food! It was so worth it! Thanks for making my bday lunch with my husband special!

3 months agoThis has become one of my monthly restaurants solely for the Sakura Bowl. The sauce and egg yolk that is mixed into the bowl full of tuna and fatty tuna is amazing. The broth that is on the side is so savory. I loved the broth. It was giving me pho vibes but lighter and more umami. Everything else we’ve had on the menu is okay, but the Sakura Bowl is our favorite. The service is super friendly, but it can be slightly slow whenever it gets really busy.

4 months agomid, would not go back, wouldn’t recommend, overpriced, disappointed, waste of money, cluttered, low quality only redeeming feature is the ramen broth cause the noodles tasted like instant ramen no offense.. dont be fooled by the decent pictures it didn’t taste half as good it looked great so i had high expectations but i was honestly disappointed by this place overall.. if you want a place thats actually good for the price go somewhere else.. the sashimi was overpriced and mediocre compared to the other places i’ve been.. the ramen was good but a bit of a shame that it was just so underwhelming. they took like 25 minutes or more to make some overpriced salad that was just a ton of plain lettuce with avocado and roe. it looked good on the pictures but actually tasting it i felt disappointed with the price and how long it took. the sashimi was mediocre nothing to really praise since it was still edible but for the price js astonishingly bad imo compared to another restaurant i’ve been to (ozuri isakaya) definitely go to tjis plave instead if you wanted a good sashimi their bowls was much cheaper and higher quality. this places sushi jusr didnt taste that good.. the only reason the non sashimi sushi’s tasted ok was because the other ingredients hide the overall quality of the fish itself. while some of the service was friendly they felt like a rush and very busy while not putting much food pur since it took forever.

5 months agoThe restaurant itself is beautiful and well decorated. The inside and the booths are perfect! The liver was not my favorite but was my husbands! And the sushi platter was the second option and was great! The rice ratio was perfect The ramen was the perfect amount of spice and my husband enjoyed it! We will be back

5 months agoEverything about this place was 5 stars. From the atmosphere to the aesthetic of the store to the food to the service, me and my my friend were very satisfied with our time at Hoo Izakaya. I took my best friend here for her birthday and I couldn’t be more proud that I chose this restaurant amongst all the others. There were anime opening soundtracks playing, and the vibe of the store really reflected japanese culture in a creative and intimate way! The staff were very kind and even gave us 2 printed copies of a picture they took of us to take home. I ordered a volcano roll and i’m pretty sure it’s one of the best i’ve ever had in my life. I’m also not a big alcohol person, but I ordered a Tokyo mule and it’s made it onto my list of my favorite drinks. If you really like ginger beer and don’t like strong tasting drinks this is definitely a good pick!! Overall, I’ll 100% be recommending this place to my friends and I hope the owners don’t change a thing!!

6 months agoWe decided to try this restaurant after discovering the one we originally wanted to visit was closed. For appetizers, we ordered the tamago and salmon salad, along with the fried calamari. For our main dishes, we had the tonkotsu and pork miso ramen. The ramen was the highlight of the meal — clean, flavorful, and delicious, even though it didn’t come with as many toppings as other ramen spots. The salmon salad was also very good and well balanced. The tamago wasn’t our favorite, though it wasn’t bad; it just wasn’t to our taste. The fried calamari was cooked well and tasted fresh, but it could have used a bit more seasoning. Service was extremely fast.
